How many times has a pet not been adopted because the pet has a chronic illness,is elderly, is post surgical or is newly diagnosed?
Pet illness and old age are among the top ten reasons why pets are relinquished.An increased in abandoned pets that are often injured and sick when they arrive in animal shelters is apparent. Overcrowded shelters and increased euthanasia's.
You and I both know that many potential adopters would be more apt to adopt a chronically ill, post- surgical, elder, recent new diagnose or even a new pet, if they knew that someone would assist them with the aftercare of these pets.
We believe that many of these pets can be saved if the potential pet owners can be provided with low costs medical care in their home.
Our primary goal is to encourage the adoption of these physically challenged pets, to reduce the number of pets that remain in the shelters and decrease the number of pre mature pet relinquishments.
The Home Health for Special Pets Foundation is a charitable 501 (c ) 3 organization that promotes and focuses on the adoption of sheltered pets that are physially challenged by either old age, chronic illness, post surgical or new diagnosis. We provide education for the new adopters with one on one interaction with licensed Veterinary Technicians that are specially trained and experts in this field. With hands on help without time restraints, we feel more people will be inclined to adopt these lovable pets.
Problem
We can decrease the numbers in shelters and euthanasia's by allowing Home Health for Special Pets Foundation to provide licensed Veterinary Technicians for in home pet health care.We are a full time visiting Vet Tech service. Home health care is our specialty and our expert licensed Veterinary Technicians see pets that require assistance with diabetes management, post op surgical care, dressing changes, fluid management, medicine management, blood pressure issues, blood work, rehab and the list goes on and on.
